Recent experiences flying LTU?

I posted the other day and mentioned we'd be flying to Zurich in September via British Air, through Heathrow. That would mean flying out of Seattle and we'd much rather go out of Vancouver, BC. The options are few ~ options that are financially reasonable, given that we have to buy seven tickets. I'm looking at LTU just now. Anyone have recent LTU experiences to share? Thanks!

LTU is an airline, now a subsidiary of airberlin. I have no idea what, if anything, "LTU" abbreviates since it's only referred to by that title.

Ah. Thanks, Jenufa. I suppose as a German speaker I could have figured that out. (Alternatively, I could have taken a moment to look it up on wiki. : ) )

So now that we've determined the full title of the airline...can anyone address my question?

Thanks for the feedback, Andreas. Did you fly internationally on LTU or within the continent?

I've only flown AirBerlin not LTU but I was very impressed with AirBerlin. A real throw back to the way air travel used to be even for short flights.

I'd say give it a try. :-) BA is nothing exciting these days.

LTU has been around for a long time and used to be one of the biggest charter airlines in Germany. If not the biggest. They have a pretty large fleet, though I don't know what machines they fly on the transatlantic routes. But generally speaking their service is quite good (for a charter).

I've been flying internationally with LTU and at they're using a fleet of brand new A330s for their Europe to Asia and Europe to North America flights.
