Reading and comparing train schedules... Please help

I am planning a trip for May 29 - June 8 of this year. My daughter and I will be traveling from Salzburg, Hallstadt, zurich, Paris, Brussels, Luxembourg and Munich (which we depart from) We have planned to take a night train from Hallstadt to Zurich (5/31), an an evening train from Zurich to Paris (6/1) and another night train from Luxembourg to Munich (6/6). The rest of the places will be traveled to by day train. My issue is that I am trying to compare whether a eurorail pass is best or do individual city to city tickets. I cannot find prices to compare costs. I have heard that although you purchase a eurorail pass, some flights may not be covered or will require additional fees. But I also do not know how to find if rail pass is covered or what fees are to be incurred. I have looked on Obbt and eurorail both and am having difficulties. Could someone please point me in the right direction? Thank you

I'm not sure you want a night train from Hallstatt to Zurich. There is one night train I can find, from Salzburg at 00:44 to Zurich at 6:20. That's not a very long night. Some day trains make the trip in even less time.

As far as Luxembourg to Munich, you might have to go to Koblenz and catch the Amsterdam to Munich train. Again, you board at 1 AM and get off at 7:16 - not much time to sleep.

And, yes, with a railpass, a lot of trains require a supplement. Make sure you know where to get them, and how much, before springing for a pass. Paris to Brussels will require a supplement on Thalys. A railpass covers the rail portion of a night train, but the accommodation range from €20-€30 for a couchette to €60 or more for a compartment. A lot of the national rail websites sell full tickets for night trains online, but not supplements (reservations).

Thank you, this helps. I obviously was reading the schedules wrong, as I read a schedule listing the the Halstadt to zurich listed 12 hours in duration for the trip. Same for the luxembourg to Munich was listed at 9. I was knew I was misunderstanding the schedules.
