re: Amsterdam canal ride....

Hi,
Does anyone have any info for a canal ride in Amsterdam? How long do they take, where do you find one and are you restricted to certain rides if you have a Holland Pass?
Thanks.

We used the Blue Boat on our last trip. It is 75 minutes in length, and you catch it just about across from the entrance of the Vondelpark.
From Centraal, you can take tram #1, and get off at Leidse Plein, and walk to the ticket office located on the West side of the outer most canal.
Can't answer about using the pass.

We really enjoyed the canal taxi from Anne Frank's house to the Rijksmuseum. Then a short walk to the Van Gogh museum.

Are you talking about the hop on hop off boats? They're called the canal bus and we used them when we were there in 07. It was convenient because they have stops everywhere, have 3 different routes, and your ticket is good till noon the next day. I have the brochure right in front of me and we paid 18 euro back then. It's flexible, being HOHO, so you can stay as long as you want and it's a wonderful way to see the city. The website is www.canal.nl. I don't know anything about the Holland Pass though.
