I understand a strike by DB workers is likely for Wednesday 4 July - will it still be possible to get to Berlin fron Schonfeld airport on Wednesday - are there other services e.g bus/coach if trains not running?
Any advice gratefully received.

The trains are running, so far it isn't clear what kind of action is planned for tomorrow. Today they didn't run from 5am to 9am only. And yes, there are also busses connecting the airport with various parts of the city.

According to the news Berlin will not be affected by Wednesday's action which is to take place in the greater Frankfurt, Mainz, Wiesbaden area.
