We are traveling in Germany during July. We will be taking three trains during that time. Should we purchase a pass or per ticket and do you suggest reservations. Each trip in on an ICE train.

With advance ticket purchase discount and if willing to lock into a schedule the p2p would be cheaper. Hard to make a pass pay on three trips. Without knowing your schedule there could be other discounts available further reducing the need for a pass. Have you looked at bahn.de?

Advance purchase, online Sparpreis tickets on German trains start at €29 for one person or €49 for two people from anywhere in Germany to anywhere else, 2nd cl. The connection has to include a train (ICE/IC/EC) of the Bahn, but regional trains can be used to get to the express train. For trips under 250 km fares start at €19 for one, €29 for two.
