Railpass purchases from Rick Steves

I have purchased rail passes in the past on the RS website and there were always some "giveaways" like maps, DVD's or 20% off from the travel store. I do not see anything on the website mentioning that anymore. Is that still being offered?

This is really a question for a member of Rick's staff. Did you check the box to have one of them "chime in"?

Yes, I did check the RS box. Hopefully will get the official word on Monday. I was afraid they might not be doing that again. Thanks for the quick response.

Rick Steves' railpass fulfillment procedures changed in January and that program of freebies was dropped (after about 5 years with the 20% off coupon). Railpasses are now delivered for us by Rail Europe, not shipped from our Edmonds office. At the same time, you can now add seat or sleeper reservations or point-to-point tickets to the same booking. Rail Europe's free shipping threshold or other shipping fees will apply. You'll receive the rail map that matches your pass and any other brochure that the railways provide. Eurail no longer prints a timetable as of this year (and BritRail stopped doing so years ago). As railpass issuing has become more automated and agency commissions have dropped over the years, this was the next logical step for us to take. We hope that the railpass information on this site and in the downloadable rail guide will help you to compare railpass values and choose the best options for your trip.

Strictly speaking it is not the case that there isn't a complete printed timetable available for National Rail in Britain. These are available from two companies producing them under licence, Middleton Press and TSO. Maybe these aren't available through Britrail though.
