I feel as though I'm unnecessarily confused about the discounts associated with Rail Europe passes. For my upcoming trip through Scandinavia it makes sense to purchase a rail pass. These passes list that they also provided discounts on ferry travel amongst other things. I can't seem to find information on how you actually go about applying these discounts when booking the other modes of travel though. Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks!
You must go directly to each ferry company to apply any discount, and many ferry companies don't provide an option for that online, in which case you would call or book in person at the port. DFDS Seaways is one company that did handle rail pass discounts online, but may no longer offer any discounts in Scandinavia.
