I understand Eurail passes can be purchased only in the U.S., but may take up to 5 days to deliver If I'm about to leave the U.S., can I purchase a Eurail pass in the US and have it mailed to an address in France? Thanks.

You should call Rail Europe. They are open today ( Rick Steves travel store is not). Rail Europe says they have an overnight delivery option, so you could ask about that.

Some, but not all, Eurail passes are available at "Aide" stations in major rail stations in Europe. See here. However, they are more expensive over there, and you have to prove you are a resident from somewhere outside of Europe. If you qualify to purchase a Eurail pass, you can purchase it from the Eurail website and they will ship it to an address in Europe.
