Are Railcards and Coachcards just for residents of the UK? What do they cost. What is the age for a senior Railcard or Coachcard? Thank You Mardon
If you look at the following page, scroll down to Senior Railcard, then click on the link, you can read the terms and conditions. I don't immediately see anything about UK residents only: http://www.southwesttrains.co.uk/railcards.aspx All the other features are listed. Also note other railcards, like the Network card.
£28 for a Senior Railcard (over 60) for one year, can't buy before you get to a manned station unless you have a British passport.
Senior Railcard website: Can visitors to Britain buy a Railcard online?
You can only buy online is you are able to give a UK-delivery address. We cannot send Railcards to non-UK addresses. Alternatively, you can buy a Railcard at a staffed rail station ticket office in England, Scotland, or Wales or a National Rail-licensed Travel Agent on arrival. You can also buy a Railcard at Gatwick Airport, Stansted Airport rail stations, Luton Airport Parkway and Manchester Airport – but NOT at London Heathrow Airport.
Hi! I am from Texas and will be purchasing a railcard in Manchester Airport. Could you tell me the location where I would do this? Thanks!
Kelly
For Kelly: You'll probably come in at T3. Walk out the door and you'll see signs to T1, T2, and 'The Station'. Go to the latter, it's just what it sounds like. It's not a ten-minute walk, but I think you can hop the shuttle as well.
Thanks so very much! One last question if you don't mind...
I have tried to purchase tickets from Blackpool Pleasure Beach station and it says unable to get at this station and it routes me to another Blackpool station. Can I pick the tickets up for these at any station that I am at prior if ordered online?
Blackpool Pleasure Beach station is basically a platform and a shelter with no other facilities. You would be able to pick up advance tickets at other stations (or if on the day, pay on the train).
