Do I need to get a Eurail pass to travel from Vienna to Budapest and then Prague? Also, if I travel to Kutna Hora, can I purchase a train ticket there?
You don't need a rail pass to travel anywhere. In some cases it might save you money, but today that is unlikely. You can always buy tickets at the train station. Anyway, Prague to Vienna to Budapest sounds like two days of travel. Most rail pass are for more days. "if I travel to Kutna Hora, can I purchase a train ticket there?" What's "there"? Kutna Hora? You can't wait until you get to Kutna Hora to purchase your ticket to Kutna Hora. If you mean in Europe, of course you can. Do you think Europeans have to come to this country to buy their tickets?
Hi, For these cities you list I would not recommend a Eurail Pass. You don't need a Pass; for some other places I would use one. Are you going from Prague to Kutna Hora (Kuttenberg/Böhmen) as a day trip? For a historical place r/t day trip from Prague, I suggest Benesov.
Thanks for the info. This is my first trip to Europe, so I'm pretty green on the trains. I'm flying into Vienna, then to Budapest, to Prague, and then back to Vienna. I will check into Benesov-thanks!
