I am planning to travel from Paris to Mannheim Germany on monday May 5, 2007. My question is should I buy a ticket from Rail europe from the states or wait and buy A few days ahead of time in France? Is there any other web resource I should consider to use? Should I worry about any baggage restrictions on the train for trip?

If you book NOW at www.bahn.de, you can get a Europa-Spezial Frankreich fare of 39€. Buying a ticket in Paris would be cheaper than buying one from RailEurope.
You are responsible for your own luggage so you are limited only by what you can carry on and off the train.
