Rail Travel from Paris-Beaune-Avignon-Nice

My sister and I are going to France for 9 days in the end of July and beginning of August. We have a rail travel question.

1) Our travel plan is to leave Paris to Beaune to Avignon and flying out of Nice back to the US. We plan on buying a railpass for this trip.

2) Is there a TGV rail for this route? If so, how do we make reservations?
How do we figure out how many of those train trips will be on a TGV train and therefore will need a reservation? And then, how do I make that reservation?

Thanks so much for any help!!

If you can commit well in advance to specific departure dates and times so you can get discount fares, point-to-point tickets will be much cheaper than a railpass.

For example, the fare on a direct TGV from Paris to Beaune can be as little as €17.00.

Follow Steve's instructions for booking at tgv-europe.com. You can book up to three full months in advance (as of today you could book up to and including 20 May).

All three journeys can be had for about 75 Euro, second class, or about $100 ,on the aforementioned TGV-Europe website, including all necessary reservations. Most, if not all, of the tickets (PREMs discount fares) can be printed at home...but they are non refundable so, as Tim says, you have to be firm on your travel dates. If not printable at home, they can be picked up at the station in Paris.
As a comparison, the cheapest railpass you're going to find (the France Saver pass) is going to cost you $145 plus reservations, which can add up. Reservations are necessary on at least some portions of each of your journeys.
