I'd like to take the train from Innsbruck, Austria to Florence, Italy, but have been unable to learn anything about it on line. Is there such a train? How long does it take? Which station in Innsbruck does it leave from, and where in Florence does it arrive. Thanks for any help! Susan Elder
There is a CNL night train going through Innsbruck at 23:05, direct (no change) to Florence at 6:18. You can find schedules at the German Rail (Bahn) website. Hint: use the German name Florenz or Italian Firenze. There are 5 EuroCity trains making the trip from Innsbruck to Verona or Bologna during the day, and you would need to change there to an Italian Train to Firenze. German Rail won't sell you those tickets online, but you might try Austrian Rail (www.oebb.at) for the train from Innsbruck or Trenitalia for any connecting train in Italy.
