Rail travel

Any experience using RailEurope of White Plains, NY to book travel in Europe? Legit?

Usually expensive. Try seat61.com for links to the national rail web sites. Also, bahn.de for schedules for all of Europe.

I'm sure they are legit, they are one of Rick's sponsers, but as Kathy says, overly expensive. Although owned by French Rail, they are not a ticket outlet for French Rail. They charge more then the counter price for tickets in Europe. For example, Frankfurt Hbf to Munich Hbf is €91 in Germany or online from the Bahn, 93,50 with a seat reservation. That's $133. Rail Europe charges $154. From German Rail, with advance purchase (what you are doing with RailEurope, anyways), the Sparpreis is €29 (€31,50 with a seat reservation, $45). And RailEurope only shows schedule for the trains for which they sell tickets, usually the fastest but most expensive train.
