rail passes

I will be traveling in France using buses and trains-does it pay for me to purchase a rail pass for the week I will be there or is it better to pay as I go?

Run the many prior postings on this subject for complete answers. It depends on where and when you are going. Compare point to point tickets to the cost of the pass and then decide. Remember you pay for seat reservations with a pass and the number of passes on a train is limited in France. Do your homework first.

It might depend on how much bus travel you have. According to this page on the Eurail website, only four bus routes are included with the Eurail France pass. If you are using a lot of other bus routes, you might not have enough train travel to justify a rail pass.
