Rail pass for multi country trip?

My wife and I will be traveling over the course of two weeks to: Haarlem (and back and forth to Amsterdam) Bruges Bacharach Germany Lauterbrunnen Switzerland (and up to Murren and other mountain stuff) Geneva The plan is to do it all via train. We're pretty old (mid fifties) Should we do rail pass? Thanks! Joe L

No way. Forget MultiCountry Rail Passes, they're going the way of the Travelers Cheques.

If you intend to spend 4 days or more in Berner Oberland and doing a lot of touring on lifts and mountain railways, a Berner Oberland pass might pay off, or a Swiss half fare card if you will be all over Switzerland. There are good deals available for Point to Point tickets in Germany, France, Netherlands if you are willing to commit to a specific train, much like like airline tickets.
And mid fifties doesn't make you pretty old, at least on this forum.

"We're pretty old (mid fifties)" Wait just a minute here! I was seventy-three on my last birthday. You think you are old? Just wait! We do it by train too, and bus, all point to point tickets. I'll bet my wife can outrun you on a train platform.

Hi, I use a rail Pass but certainly would not advise that for you. First, you're not going long enough, and you're not going far enough. Point to point tickets are the best for the itinerary you have in mind. BTW, I got years on you too...early 60s. And none of the "pretty old" mentality.
