Rail pass details

I couldn't find the answer to this specific question about the Eurail passes. Does using local transportation (which is free when you have a pass right?) count as a travel day?

For example, if take the train from Frankfurt to Munich, there is a travel day. If I spend the next day exploring Munich and I happen to use a bus, does that count as a travel day? Or does it just apply to trains?

All trains of the Bahn, including the S-Bahn, are covered with the pass.

You never use a day of the pass unless you fill in the date. For instance, if you are going to use the S-Bahn in Munich, instead of using a day of your pass, it will probably be less expensive to just buy a Tageskarte (day ticket), and the Tageskarte will include any other transport in Munich, like the U-Bahn, tram, or bus, which are not covered by the pass.

The savings fare from Frankfurt -> Munich is 19Euro. Think before you purchase an overpriced Eurail Pass - it may not be your best choice.
