Rail Pass and Night Trains

Hi, I'm about to purchase my rail pass and have read the posts about making reservations for night trains. I'm trying to figure out where to go to make the reservation once I own a pass so I can figure out how much extra a sleeper will cost me. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Julie...the first thing to do is try to price out your itinerary using point to point tickets. Unless you're travelling by rail a LOT, p2p tickets are generally cheaper, especially if you can take advantage of early booking deals. That also avoids the extra supplements/reservation fees that have to be paid on many trains, in addition to the cost of your Eurail pass. Feel free to post your itinerary, and someone will give you a hand.

I'm a bit nuts; every time I go, I pack in everything I can. So I arrive in/leave from Frankfurt. Day 1, Frankfurt to Paris (ICE train); Day 2, local trains (Versailles); Day 3, Paris to Reims; Day 4, Reims to Brussels and Brussels to Ghent + return; Day 5, Brussels to Rotterdam; Day 6, Rotterdam to Delft + return, Rotterdam to Brussels; Day 7, Night train (leaves after 7 pm on day 6) from Brussels to Hamburg, Hamburg; Day 8, Hamburg to Frankfurt (ICE train).

I know it's in my best interest to get a Select Pass, 8 day, 3 country (I priced the ICE trains alone). However, I'm trying to figure out how to price the night train. If it's still too much even after the lower price from the rail pass, then I need to get a plane ticket.

Can someone help me price the pass of a reservation on a night train with a rail pass?

The "in Europe" supplement for passholders is €19 for a bunk in a six-person couchette, €24 for a bunk in a four-person couchette, and €35 for a bed in a three-person sleeper. You can buy your supplement at raileurope.com, but it will be more expensive. Instead, phone German Rail. Dial 011 (US international access code) + 49 (country code for Germany) + 1805 141514.
