We plan to take the TGV train to Rouen from Paris. We fly in at Charles deGaulle airport. Can we take train from the airport to Rouen? or do we take the RER from airport to Gare St. Lazare and then TGV train to Rouen. Just trying to figure logistically what we need to to to accomplish travel to Rouen. Thank you for your help.

Interesting proposition - - I'll bet the train noodlers could figure out how to do it by tgv, but it'd probably take all day and you'd have to chase yourself to Lille or something. What us regular folk would do is take the RER B from the airport to Nord, hike the tunnel to Magenta for the RER E which would dump you at Haussmann - St Lazare from which you'd hike another tunnel to Gare St Lazare for the train to Rouen (which won't be a tgv). Total walking time is less than ten minutes and you can be in Rouen in less than three hours after you leave the airport. And you don't need to buy advance tickets.
There are no direct trains from CDG to Rouen. Trains from Gare Saint-Lazare to Rouen are Corail Intercites trains, not TGVs. The standard 2nd class fare is €21.90. If you book well in advance (up to three months allowed), you can get a Prem's fare as low as €10.00. However, those tickets are for a specific departure time and are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.. If your plane is late and you don't get into Paris in time to catch your particular train, your ticket will be worthless.
