R.S. Carry On + Ryan Air

Hi, I searched the topics but could not find one that answered my question 100%.
I'm going to be studying in France for about 5 months starting in January, and I have a fews weeks vacation in that time, along with weekends and I am planning on doing some travelling with flights like RyanAir and EasyJet, and I was wondering anyone has used the Convertible Carry-On with, and if it fits in the guidelines. I checked the websites and did the conversions, but I just want to double check to make sure before I go ahead and purchase it.

Thanks so much!

I have read postings saying that Rick's wheeled bag has been accepted by Ryanair as a carry-on. Since his convertible bag is slightly "squishable," you should have no problem using it as a carry-on, so long as you don't use the expansion feature.

Great, thank you very much, I'm going to order it tonight!

Not to hijack Vanessa's thread, but are there any situations where, excluding the expansion feature, that Rick's Convertible or Back Door bag have been denied for carry-on?
I'm considering one for a trip in a month on Air France from SEA-CDG and then to Rome (via Alitalia) and want to carry the entire way. Also we'll be traveling on a regional airline from Verona to CDG before the return Air France flight. In that case, I wouldn't be surprised to have to gate-check, but I can still carry it upon landing in Paris.

You are always at the whim of the airlines, but Air France should have no problem and I would expect the same for Atailia. I didn't see anyone bold enough to go to the gate expecting to get on with their carry on be checked and on Ryan Air there were many people with the "squishy" kinds of duffles that were bigger than the measurements listed on the web site.

I have found that on both RyanAir and EJ, it is just as convienient to check your bag. It is point to point, so little chance of lost luggage. Also, they only allow on item, so if you have your daypack or bag, then you will have to check your large bag.
