My flight arrives in Vienna at 1:30PM, and I need to check in to my hotel in Melk by 6:00PM. Considering the station construction and afternoon traffic, what would be the quickest way for me to get from the airport to the Wein Westbahnhof station? I'm thinking perhaps I should take the CAT to Wein-Mitte Bahnhof (16 minutes), then a taxi. Is there a really easy connection between the two stations, or is the taxi the simplest way to go? I'm more concerned about speed than cost. Is it reasonably likely that I can land in Vienna at 1:30, and get to Melk by 6:00? Thanks so much!

Lisa, First of all, all that construction at Westbahnhof is no longer there, the place is done. There is a Vienna Airport Lines Bus that goes to Westbahnhof, takes ca 45 mins, and leaves every half hour.

Hi, You're welcome. Just follow the signs (I think they're blue). At Westbahnhof you can catch a direct train to Melk, little over an hour, or one that requires one transfer at the first city west of Vienna...St. Pölten. Melk is ca. 24 mins from St Pölten. I haven't been to the station in Melk but was at St Pölten...all very new refurbished platforms.
