Quickest way from Dublin to Dingle ?

Our family of 4 adults will be in the Dublin area for 2 nights. We just found out we can extend our stay by 2 more nights. Can someone tell me if we have enough time to get from Dublin to Dingle and still fly out after 2 nights?
If so, what is the quickest way to get from Dublin to Dingle? My husband is willing to rent a car for the 4 of us if need be.

Would we need to make a flight out of Shannon sirport or Dublin airport for our next leg of our journey?

I've read so much about how wonderful Dingle is that I'd love to see some of the area if time allows, but I don't have any idea how to see if we can get there, by train, bus, or by car, nor how much travel time is required.
We haven't made our flight arrangements out of Ireland yet, so I could leave by any airport when we go to Amsterdam.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

For several reasons, renting a car would be your best option. You might want to get a really early start in the morning from Dublin, well before the first train departs for Killarney and Tralee. Besides, to make the best use of your limited time, you'll need a car anyway to get the rest of the way to Dingle, for tourng the peninsula, and for getting to the airport. You might as well pick it up in Dublin the day before you drive to Dingle. According to www.aaroadwatch.ie, it's about a 5 1/2 hour drive from Dublin to Dingle and about a 3 1/2 hour drive from Dingle to Shannon. You should definitely plan on flying out of Shannon.
