Quick Swiss train question on Golden Pass route !

We are riding the train from Interlaken Oest via Zweisimmen to catch the slower scenic route into Montreux.

One trip routes you through Spiez and another does not.

Will this matter if we desire the "scenic" route ? It adds one more stop and change.

If you want to get from Interlaken Ost to Zweisimmen by train, you must got via Spiez, there is no other route. You may or may not need to change trains in Spiez, but the train will always stop there (and many other places as well).

See the rail map here: https://www.sbb.ch/content/dam/infrastruktur/trafimage/karten/karte-sts-pass-gueltigkeit.pdf

I hope you are looking up your train times on the SBB (Swiss Federal Railways) website: https://www.sbb.ch/en

Both trains go through Spiez, but one route you have to change trains and on the other, the train just stops in Spiez to drop and take on passengers. There are only a couple of those a day, at least in the near term.

Yes, Chris, I am looking at the sbb site and I saved the map in my bookmarks....

I looked at the changes on the route and assumed that if you did not change at Spiez, you would not train through the town.
Thank you both ! I didn't want to miss something depending on the time of day we chose to travel.

Is sbb the site we should buy tickets from ? Versus trainline or loco2 ?

Carla, on the SBB site, when you click once on each option, it shows you the individual trains and where to change. If you then click again on each train (on the '+'), it shows you all the stops for that train.

There are very few discounts on SBB trains. If SBB is showing a discounted fare (which I doubt), you can buy it on the SBB website. Otherwise just buy your tickets at Interlaken Ost station.
Trainline and Loco2 don't sell Swiss tickets (or didn't last time I checked).
