Quick Review if Primera Airline

My daughter and I took Primera Airline from Boston to Paris. People have mentioned them here, so thought I would add comments. This was my first international flight in 25 years, so some comments may be obvious to those who travel frequently, but seemed different than my US flights.

Good things
* reasonable prices - RT for 2 was $1860 Boston to Paris
* good leg room - I am 6’2” with 34” inseams and had plenty of room. Even when person in front leaned back. I barely tolerated the leg room of hitting knees on seatin front on AirFrance going 1 hour from Paris to Geneva.
* seats all seemed new and clean. There is USB charging ports from shoulder area on back of seat ahead. Lean back button is on the seat, which I have never seen

Bad
* confusing website. I found it confusing and accidentally was added cost for selecting a seat when I was confirming. I used the online chat system to complain, since the phone number hours were down, and got an email saying a return text will come within 24hrs. It was fixed without a texture call, so somehow the system worked.
* everything on board has to be paid for. Even Walter, coffee, tea. Nothing is complementary, so bring food!
* seats are hard, but not quite like a wooden church pew
* could not check in online. I don’t know if this standard for international flights, but we were emailed that we could online check in, but then I couldn’t
* no wifi
* no inseat entertainment

WAtch For
* booking early to get one free bag checked in, free seat selection. I carried on my backpack style bag, but my daughter checked hers in. We both checked in coming home, since we filled a spare backpack with books from Shakespeare and Company on a last morning trip.
* bag sizes are weighed and checked. They were asking people to check size of carryons, and personal items for under seats. We noticed almost everyone had bags weighed and had to show sizes of carryons. Again, we are not experienced international flyers, so this could be typical.
* bring your own food. This was fine on overnight flights were we slept and left long after our dinner time, but we bought snacks in the airport for the flight back. You can buy a meal, but it needs to be selected ahead of time. All drinks and snacks on the flight had to be paid for.
* bring longer USB charging cord, since it goes from the top left of seat ahead of you
* make the flight since only a few flights a day, and not ever day!

I would use this carrier again.

Do they tell you about this somewhere when you buy the ticket?

Yes the website wanted to sell the meals and made it clear you could not buy meals onboard. It also stated all onboard purchases were credit card only. Somehow it was clear to me that everything was paid for onboard but I don’t recall the wording
