Questions about an international connecting flight..

Hello,
I recently booked a flight from Paris to Toronto, with a connection in Munich. The Paris-Munich portion is on Lufthansa, and the Munich-Toronto trip is Air Canada (both airlines are Star Alliance partners).

I'm trying to find answers to the following questions before travelling:

-Do I check in for BOTH flights in Paris, or do I have to check in for the second flight in Munich?

-Does my luggage need to be re-checked in Munich?

-Do I need to go through customs in Munich and again in Toronto, or just in Toronto?

Thanks for your help

You will receive your boarding pass for both flights in Paris.
Your check-in luggage will be automatically transferred to your flight to Toronto; no need to re-check.
You will go through immigration in Munich. In Toronto it will be both immigration and customs.

The norm is for your luggage to be checked all the way through to your final destination. Which would mean that you would not have to re-check your luggage in Munich. But this happens only if the counter agent arranges it. If, by some odd chance, the agent does not ask if you want your luggage checked through to Toronto, ask the agent to arrange it.

The way Matthew worded, it indicated that this was all on the same ticket/itinerary. If that is indeed the case, he wouldn't have make any additional requests or arrangements with the agent as both airlines are part of the same alliance. But obviously confirming that his bags are tagged all the way to Toronto with the agent would be good idea.
