Question reservation from Zurich to Venice

My flight will arrive from Toronto in Zurich on June 20th 2007 at 7:45 am am. I am looking at getting a reservation for the Zurich HB to Venice St. Lucia train at 9:09 am on raileurope. I am worried about missing the train. There is a train that leaves around 1pm from Zurich to Venice but I would rather leave straight for Venice. Two questions. 1. Do you think I can make the 9:09am train? 2. If I buy the ticket on raileurope and miss the train will I be allowed to take a later train or will I be out the purchase price.

This is my first time to Europe and I appreciate any help anyone can provide.

Your big mistake here is using RailEurope. Instead you can go to the official Swiss Transportation Website at http://www.sbb.ch/en/ and type in your starting point which is Zurich Flughafen and your destination which is Venice. Type in your date/time and click the search button. You will see 3 trains leaving at 08:47, 09:47, and 12:47 that will deliver you to Venice in about 8.5 hours.
