Looking at the VA website, it looks like their carryon allowance is slightly different from domestic airlines by a couple inches. My question - how much of a stickler are they on the allowances? Do you think they will allow a couple inches?
Trying to keep from having to check my bag.
Thanks,
Brenda
I have read from posters on this site about VA measuring or weighing (I forget which) carryons but it has never happened to me. Maybe it's a function of how full a flight is. I don't know though because I have been on flights that had measuring of the carryons and some of them were not especially crowded.
You should expect them to follow stated rules (www.virginatlantic.com/us/en/travel-information/baggage-allowance/hand-baggage.html) closely. 9 x 14 x 22" is a pretty standard carry-on sized bag and is two inches longer than Rick's current line of options, like his Rolling Carry-On at 9 x 13.5 x 20". Unless you have a soft-sided backpack that can squish to fit, or you want to buy a new bag, then you'll probably have to go with the free checked-baggage option. If your bag is 24" long, then it may exceed the limit in other dimensions, too.
Thanks, JHK
Laura - thanks for the info. It looks like my rolling duffle bag is 11 x 12 x 22, it should squish those two inches into the nine inches...But, if I have to check it, I do.
