My fiance and I are planning a trip to Europe. We are both over the age of 25 and plan to do the following. With in a 3 week period we want to travel by train on the following route. Rome-Florence-Venice-Zurich (via Milan)-Salzburg-Munich-Paris. Could we (or should we) purchase the Select Pass Saver - 1st Class. 6 days in 2 months. 5 Countries. $515.00 ? Thanks, Andy

If your main criterion is price, I'd say "probably not," but you should compare costs with those for point-to-point tickets.

Rail passes are usually a good value for long distance, multiple journeys, multiple countries as you are planning. To pick the right one, count how may travel days you will be using, the number of countries and the overall timeframe of your train travel. Then compare the various options to find the one that is most economical for you.
