We will be taking the train from Avignon to Paris and then connecting to a train to Caen in Normandy. So we come in to Paris at Gare Lyon and catch the train to Caen at Gare St. Lazare. We are familiar with the metro having ridden (?) it many times but wonder about going from Gare Lyon to Gare St. Lazare. Will we need to buy a metro ticket or will our train ticket be sufficient? Has anyone made this connection recently? How long did it take? I have been working myself into a tizzy worrying about this. Thanks for your help.
If you have ever taken a train here, has your train ticket beem ook for travel on buses or subways or for cab fare? We would think not. The same is true in Paris. You will need a separate ticket for the Metro.
The connection cannot be very long. There is a #14 line (denoted on Metro maps w purple, that goes directly between Lyon and St Laz)
Thanks - this is what I thought but it helps to get confirmation.
The ride on Metro line 14 takes seven minutes. The fare is €1.50.
