Question about Comfort 1 and Comfort 2 - Thalys

First time travelling on trains and I'm a little confused....

We will have 21 day global consecutive passes and we need to take the Thalys. I see there is an option for Comfort 1 or Comfort 2. Does our type of pass require us to purchase a Comfort 1 seat?

While you will have 1st class railpasses, there is nothing to prevent you from saving some money by paying the passholder's fare for Comfort 2 seats.
