I have tried on several occasions to purchase online Madrid to Sevilla AVE train tickets. I keep getting an error message "G001 unable to complete my transaction" My credit card co. states it is not on their end, that no attempts have been made to process, therefore no decline of purchase. I have tried Mastercard, Visa and American Express.I hate to call Spain at $4.00/min to see if I can purchase over the phone. I read on tripadvisor a detailed process to purchase on the Renfe website and followed all the direction but as soon as I click on the purchase icon the message comes up instantly. My concern is that a reservation is required on the AVE and our group of 6 plans to head directly to Sevilla after arrival in Madrid with not much time to spare and we hate to take a risk of no seats available. Our travel date is October 23rd. Any advice?

Keep trying. Sometimes the site is down for maintenance or they're loading new fares....but they don't have an error message that points that out. That usually occurs between about midnight and 2 a.m. Spain time, which would be (assuming you're on central time) between 5 and 7 pm Garland time.....altho this can vary. Try it at different times of the day to see what works.....I just booked some tickets a few days ago, without any problems.
