I am having trouble purchasing a Swiss Travel Pass online - I keep getting an error message. Doesn't look like I'm being charged on my credit card. I have tried different credit cards, internet browsers and email addresses. Has anyone else had success overcoming this? I would prefer to purchase in advance rather than in person when we arrive.

Try an American Express Card. Or register your Visa card with Visa Checkout or Mastercard with Master Pass. You will get a PIN to be used during on-line purchases. Another thing is to download the SBB app and use that.

- What website were you using? Was it SBB, or some other site?
- What did the error message say?
- Did you tell your bank that you were going to use your card for a transaction in Switzerland? They may have blocked it as a suspicious foreign transaction.
Thanks all for the great advice! We were able to purchase our travel passes using our mobile phone. Creating an account first seemed to help, rather than purchasing as a guest. We downloaded the app and can view the passes easily from there. The app also includes handy timetables and best routes to destinations. Thanks again!
