Purchasing Swiss Travel Pass online

I am having trouble purchasing a Swiss Travel Pass online - I keep getting an error message. Doesn't look like I'm being charged on my credit card. I have tried different credit cards, internet browsers and email addresses. Has anyone else had success overcoming this? I would prefer to purchase in advance rather than in person when we arrive.

  • What website were you using? Was it SBB, or some other site?
  • What did the error message say?
  • Did you tell your bank that you were going to use your card for a transaction in Switzerland? They may have blocked it as a suspicious foreign transaction.

Thanks all for the great advice! We were able to purchase our travel passes using our mobile phone. Creating an account first seemed to help, rather than purchasing as a guest. We downloaded the app and can view the passes easily from there. The app also includes handy timetables and best routes to destinations. Thanks again!
