I've heard that you can purchase a pack of 10 metro tickets at the CDG airport. Is that true? Are Paris metro tickets good for any destination, or do you pay certain fees for specific destinations?
Hi Lynette. Metro tickets aren't needed at the airport. A separate train called an RER train runs from airport to Paris. Once in Paris, you can buy the pack (carnet) of metro tickets at almost any station; they are good for any ride in central Paris.
A single ticket from CDG to anywhere in central Paris costs €8.70. Take the RER B to Paris and transfer to the metro and/or other RER lines to get to your hotel. t+ tickets, either bought singly or in ten-ticket carnets, are good anywhere the metro goes (some lines end in zone 3) and on the RER in zone 1. They provide unlimted transfers until you exit the system. They also allow for bus transfers up to 90 minutes after boarding the first bus. For detailed information, including photos, on how to get from CDG to Paris, see the Paris By Train site.
