Public Transportation To/From Prague

I've been watching the RS Czech Republic videos of and look forward to traveling to Terezin, Kutna Hora, and/or Konopiste on day trips while spending a long week in Prague next Spring using public transportation. What can you tell me? Good idea or bad? Thanks, Ray

You can find schedules and fares on the Czech Rail website. I've only used it in German, so I don't know how well it accepts English spellings.

It's a good idea. It will save you money. Use the website supplied by Lee. Scroll down and switch to English (if you don't understand Czech). It will give you several connection after the time you gave. It will be either by train or by bus or combined whichever is fastest. You can get almost anywhere in C.R. by public transportation.

And cheaply. Three summers ago we day-tripped Kutna Hora from Prague via train. The return ticket bought as part was discounted 50%, the second ticket for traveling together was discounted 10%. The total for the two of us for the roundtrip was ~13.80 US, which is less then 1 roundtrip to Philadelphia Airport from my suburban stop just outside the city.
We also took the Student Agency bus to and from Cesky Krumlov. Each reserve seat, bought in advance onlione, was about $7.70 US.

Thank you guys! Our trip is still quite a ways away and things are always open to change, but right now I think the four of us are going to use trains or busses for day trips out of Prague and a rental car for a two day, one night trip to Cesky Krumlov and the environs nearby. Again, thanks for your input thus far. Ray
