Any ideas, other than taking four trains?
Thank you for your thoughts.
Depending upon the time of day, it can take less than four trains. What time will you arrive at CDG?
Thank you, Minot in ND. We arrive at CDG airport at 8 am. There seems to be a train that could get us to St Pierre at 8:47, but I doubt that we can make that one.
Again, thanks for your time.
It looks like your earliest route will indeed require taking four trains. However, if your plane is on time, you should be able to get from CDG to Massy-Palaiseau on the RER B in time to catch the 11:01 train (TGV 5451) from Massy to St-Pierre-des-Corps, connecting to the 12:07 train (RE 60865) from St-Pierre-des-Corps to Tours, connecting to the 12:20 train (RE 60313) to Chinon.
RER B trains run about every ten minutes. The trip from CDG to Massy-Palaiseau takes just over an hour.
Your next choice would be to take the RER B to St-Michel Notre-Dame, walk through the tunnels to the St-Michel Metro station, and take Metro line 4 to Gare Montparnasse where you would catch the 12:25 train (TGV 8323) to Tours, connecting to the 14:08 train (RE 60315) to Chinon. Or you could take Air France coach #4 from CDG to Gare Montparnasse (one stop at Gare de Lyon) instead of the RER & Metro. The coaches run every 30 minutes. Your luggage goes in a bay so you don't have to handle it.
Dear Minot,
Again, thank you for your time amd advice,
Suzan
You're welcome, miami.
