We are leaving on October 5th and we bought tickets for the first train we are taking from Amsterdam to Brussels online to be printed at home. However, upon trying to retrieve the tickets from his confirmation e-mail, the BF found that they will not load. All he gets is a blank webpage. He has tried all kinds of computers and browsers, to no avail. Any idea on what we can do?? It looks like the only options for contact with NS Hispeed are to pay .35EUR a minute to call them, or to use snail mail (which will probably get there after we do). Could we print out his e-mail confirmation and present it at the ticket counter?
This page might help you out: http://tinyurl.com/2wgz67g If you still can't print out the tickets write down the confirmation number and bring it to the train station; they'll probably give your the tickets at the counter. Were theses tickets from Ams to Brussels Thalys tickets, or for the regular intercity train? If the latter it's a lot easier to simply wait and purchase your tickets at the station on the day of your journey, there's no advantage to purchasing IC tickets via the website, price is the same and seats are first come first serve.
Well, I guess it's a bit of a story. We were going to go to London originally, so we booked an IC/Eurostar combination that stops in Brussels. That kind of backfired when it turned out we couldn't go to London. We decided to at least salvage the AMS-Brussels leg of the journey and just stay in Brussels. So - if it's possible - we'd like to avoid completely wasting this ticket and buying another IC ticket to Brussels. Is there a good chance that we could get a "replacement" ticket at the ticket window in Amsterdam, if we show them a print-out of our online booking confirmation and explain the situation?
Unfortunately I don't know for certain-100% if going to the counter will work. But I'm sure others have had similar problems, I think it's a safe bet the they should be able to help out. Another thought....is it possible that you could try a different computer to try printing out the tickets like friend, neighbor, work, or school?
First of all - thanks for your comments, Michael. And unfortunately, we HAVE tried just about every combination of computer and browser. It seems to be something on their end rather than ours. I guess the good news is, our worst case scenario is spending another 23EUR on a ticket to Brussels...
There are ticket collection points where you should be able to collect the tickets. Below you can find the English information, the Dutch version notes that you require your booking number and the credit card used for the transaction. From www.NS-Hispeed.nl: At the large NS stations (Schiphol, Utrecht Central, Amsterdam Central, The Hague Central, Rotterdam Central, Breda and Arnhem) you will find a ticket collection machine where you can collect the tickets you reserved online. Please note: the machines are located in the Tickets & Service offices and are therefore only accessible during offices' opening hours. The ticket collection machine at Schiphol is located in the NS Hispeed Lounge which can be found across from the HEMA in Arrival Hall 4
Thank you, Ronald!! We will look for these in Schiphol!
