Problem on TGV Europe

I tried all day yesterday to order an E printable ticket from Paris to Avignon using TGV Europe. There were some very good prices, but when I confirmed, my payment was rejected. Today I found out why that I had used USA instead of Great Britan for my country. After discovering the problem I went back and tried again. Today the ticket prices were not as good as yesterday but I still tried to get a ticket. I used GB, but when I pressed the last comfimation button, I was rejected again. At the very end of filling out the blanks, there were a few questions about security for my bank card and I had to put down my zip code that was to be used by my bank. Could this be the problem? it would certainly be a give away as to the fact that my card is from the USA. I do not know if filling out that last bit of information was mandatory. Do you?
Thanks for any answers. Sylvia Irvin

I have never had them request a zip code so that makes me wonder just what you 'got into' so to speak. If you tell us the times and dates we can try to duplicate the request on our computers. Often folks recommend clearing out all the cookies or trying on a different computer. Also, put Antartica for the country instead of US. You are sure your credit card company isn't blocking the foreign transaction?

I'm not sure what to say. I purchased two tickets from the TGV-Europe site last week (one from Paris to Nice and once from Nice to Avignon) and I had no problem, got e-tickets and have printed them out. Is it possible that your credit card is blocked? Have you notified them that you are purchasing from a foreign supplier? If you haven't done that you should call them and then try again. I waited a day after I called my cc company and then tried and had no problem (I used Great Britain as my country). Also, I did not have to answer any questions about zip code or anything like that when I filled out the cc info. Not sure what that's about.

You are both right thank you. My bank called and asked if I had tried to buy tickets in Europe. They said they always block the bank credit card if the holder is trying to buy anything from a foreign country. She offered to unblock it, but I had already purchased the French pass. Now I am wondering if it is possible to purchase a reservation from Paris to Avignon on the Internet once my French Pass arrives and I have a number at least I assume it will have an ID number. Thank you for your answers. I will know what to do next time.

SNCF (French National Rail) limits the number of seats it allocates to passholders for each train requiring them so it's a good idea to buy them well in advance. You can buy them from Rail Europe. You won't need to provide an ID number.
