Has anyone had experience with MJ Service or Davide Guererra private shuttle services between Milan and Lake Como? There's 4 of us traveling and might be worth it for the convenience.

No, don't know of that service, but we used "Your tour in Italy" last summer (8 adults in our party) and were VERY pleased! Check out their website for details.

Where are you going on the Lake? The train ride to Varenna is quick and easy. Have not heard of these private shuttle services.

We're going to Menaggio and there is some kind of train construction this summer between Cadorne and Saronne which would be our preferred train route that is difficult to understand. http://www.trenord.it/it/media-news/avvisi/0412012.aspx

caroline, I can't recall if I mentioned it previously, but the train construction you mentioned is not a problem if you travel on the other side of the lake. Simply take the train from Milano Centrale to Varenna (1H:03M). Walk down the hill to the docks and board the Ferry, and you'll be in Menaggio is about 15 minutes. It's very easy! Happy travels!
