Looking for a responsible driver to take 2 ladies from
Venice Island, near San Marco to Lake Como end of May. How much for services? Could also use a private tour of Venice Island for a day. Any recommendations?

1) It's about 200 miles from Venice to Lake Como (depending on where on Lake Como.)
2) Cars are not allowed on "Venice Island"
If this is real, you need to do some better planning on where you're going, or perhaps take a tour. By just calling it "Venice Island" says you might want to look closer at your planning.
You'll also have better luck on the Fodor's and Frommor's boards as I doubt many people here would hire a car to drive them 200 miles.

There is efficient train and bus service to Lake Como. It does not make sense to drive.
There are comfortable shuttles from Milan--I would consider that semi-private--if you want more personalized service. I doubt they're personal enough to swing by Venice though..
Which travel guides are you using? Have you purchased Rick Steves "Italy" book? It is very helpful.
