Private Car Service from CDG to Paris

My husband and I are older and appreciate the luxury of a private car ride from the airport to the city after a long, transatlantic night flight. We've used private cars before but it's been a while so I need a new service. Does anyone have a great recommendation?

Last fall in Paris we used our hotel's car arrangement which left a lot to be desired. (The driver never confirmed the day before; did not pick us up anywhere near "la douane"/Customs as they said, came 1/2 late, and was not checking the flight status to know when it actually arrived - due to an amazing jet stream we got in an hour early).

All the things that you mention are the reasons why you should take a regular taxi, which by the way, is a private car ride. Plus, car services cannot park right in front of the terminal where taxis wait so you will have to walk with the driver to wherever the driver has parked his car. That could be relatively close but most times, it is a lot longer walk than the walk from customs to the taxi line. That being said, if you insist on a car service, try https://carylis.com/.

Blacklane has always been a reliable car service for me. I've used it in a number of European cities. The driver is always waiting for me, assists with luggage, and courteous.

It certainly sounds much easier just to go to the official taxi line and take a fixed-price taxi. Then you have no issues around your "projected" and true arrival times, whether the latter be earlier or later than the former.

56€ to locations on the right bank
€65 to locations on the left Bank

Luggage included, price is good for up to four passengers.

The sad part is the "luxury" means you walk a LOT farther to your car and as you have already seen car services in Paris are often unreliable. I would still recommend a taxi. It's a shorter walk to our car and you won't have this mess to deal with

Has anyone suggested a taxi yet?

We used the car company our left bank hotel recommended, he met us at baggage claim and was parked right outside. Couldn't have been simpler. Took a taxi back to the airport.

Thanks for all the info. One follow-up question:
We are open to the taxi as a good option but, we wonder, after several international flights have arrived at the same time at 2E and many many people have their luggage from the carousel and head for the taxi stand, how long is the line and wait for a taxi?

You know I looked back, and you're right. Thanks for clearing that up ;)

The last time I was there I remember being in line of people at the taxi stand. However, there was a steady stream of taxis lined up and I did not have to wait long before climbing into a taxi. I handed the driver my hotel and address written on a piece of paper and away we went.

Sometimes there's a line, sometimes there isn't.

In my experience the taxi line turns over quickly, no shortage of cabs. :)

I had a bigger taxi issue at Gare de l'est than at CDG

Taxi sounds great but our family is two adults and four kids - the kids ages range from 7 yrs to 9 months. If we go to the taxi line at CDG, will we be assured to get a car/van that can take six people plus luggage? Or (like most taxi lines) we have to take the next car in line which will likely not fit all of us?

Any advice appreciated!

You are going to get definitive information, probably from someone in France when they wake up, but the last two times I went through the CDG taxi line, I watched groups larger than 4 get directed to larger vehicles that were farther back in the taxi line by the taxi line coordinator guy. They didn't have to do any extra waiting.

So as far as I know, you're good. I hope your family has a wonderful trip :)

Hank is right - they will get you the taxi size you need.
