Prices for German Rail Tickets

According to Rick Steves' site, a 2nd Class Twin German Rail pass is $237.00 per person for 5 days (or $474.00).

However, the twin pass on the DB Bahn website appears to be 300 Euros combined, which comes out to less. What am I missing?

Currency exchange rate? One is in US$, the other in Euro. Someone has to set the rate based on what they think the exchange rate is going to be. Sometimes they guess wrong.

BTW, Rick only resells passes from RailEurope. I'm sure the same miscalculation is on RailEurope, as well.
