Price of Ticket from Venice to Interlaken OST

Using the Trenitalia site. I am unable to get an approximate price of a ticket from Venice to Interlaken OST. What am I doing wrong? I do have the timebable. Not ready to buy ticket. Just trying to determine which leg of our journey will warrant a Rail Pass or P-T-P. Thank you in advance.

Trenitalia will show you the run but they won't show you the international price. But, you can walk up to the ticket window in the Venice train station and buy such a ticket. We did. You can also see this journey, with pricing, on the Swiss train website www.rail.ch. The fare is 126CHF. Or, there is a special offer of 90CHF for a non-exchangable non-refundable ticket. You can even buy this ticket online from the Swiss.

JB, if you can nail down your travel dates and times, Tim's suggestions are great and the best values you can get. It does work well. As eperienced travelers, this is how we book our tickets. At Spiez, you usually have about 10-12 minutes for the train change. I usually run around the back of the fairly small train station there and there's an ATM. I load up on Swiss Francs and off I go. You'll need the Swiss Francs anyway.

If you book far enough in advance (up to 120 days allowed) on the Swiss Rail site, you can get a discount fare as low as 77.00 CHF. However, since your ride begins in Italy, you will have to have the tickets mailed to you - for a fee. It takes more steps, but there is a way to pay even less. Book a high-speed train from Venice to Milan on the Trenitalia site up to 120 days in advance to get a Super Economy fare of €9.00. There is a very limited number of seats at that price so book ASAP. Book a Milan-Spiez EC train on the Trenitalia site up to 120 days in advance to get a Smart fare of €19.00. Buy your ticket for Spiez-Iterlaken Ost when you get to Spiez and jump on the next train. There are at least three trains/hour. The fare is 10.40 CHF.
