Premium Economy Deals

Delta is having a limited sale on Premium Economy. Best fares seem to be out of JFK and IAD (Washington, DC)

The flights are on either Air France or Virgin. I have not checked to see if the same flights are on those airlines. Reports are flights as low as $654 in Premium Economy to Barcelona.

I just found JFK to Barcelona 10/6 to 10/16 for $633 on Air France!

Might be worth checking out if you want a nicer experience, but don't want to spring for Business!

But it is still not the same or close to business class. It helps but not a substitute.

No, but on some airlines it's considerably better than coach! I decided to book on Virgin out of Orlando. It was the same price for Premium as it is for Coach. No brainer.

Anything is better than coach. We have thrown in the towel and pay the price for better seats.

As long as I'm picking up the tab, I proudly fly steerage--in the back.
For the price of Business Class alone, I can make a few trips to Europe in full.
As an early retiree, I no longer have any "miles" built up on any specific airline as MegaCorp no longer is paying for my travel.

Since this cost the same as steerage I saw no reason not to upgrade :)

Premium economy can be significantly more comfortable than economy .. and yet nothing like First or Business. However since in many cases Business or Economy can be two or even three times the price of prem ec... I don't think one can compare.

We almost always fly prem ec now . I can use the extra 2,000 dollars by not upgrading to first or business class to stay an extra week in Europe.. thanks. I'll miss the foie gras on the plane for the foie gras in Paris.. !!

Pat is right. It's worth the money and at these fares, more than worth it. No, not close to business or first, but a lot more comfortable than coach especially for long haul flights. We can't go back to economy. We are at the point where we'd just as soon do one less trip than suffer through that again.
