pre-moistened towelettes allowed in carry-on?

Bit of a stupid question, really, but it will affect the way we pack. I'd rather not have to throw a bunch of stuff out while going through Security!

I know that for parents travelling with infants, wet-wipes are allowed on the flight. But for childless passengers, do the following items count as "liquids" or "solids": Wet wipes, Lysol wipes, moistened face wash wipes? None would be in individually-wrapped packets--just stuffed into 3 separate baggies. Am I allowed to take these on-board? Do they count towards my liquid restrictions? (We are not checking any bags, so this does make a difference.)

We're flying with Continental Airlines, if that even makes a difference.

No problem. They are looking for liquids, not moist tissue paper.

Thanks to you both--that's what I suspected, but carry-on restrictions are so extreme that I thought checking first would be a good idea. :-)

It's always a good idea to check--who would guess that mascara is considered a baggie-only item but lipstick is not.

Consistency and common sense are not the hallmarks of this policy, in my opinion.

I take wet-wipes with me all the time and have never been questioned. I have the packets and have put several in a baggie and still not questioned.

Would that change if they weren't in individual packets?

The sign at our local airport says if you can pour it out (liquid), squeeze it out (gel), or spray it out (aerosol) it has to go in the baggie. Everything else is OK. So lipstick doesn't go in, but lip gloss in a tube does.

I had put all my make up in my make up bag, I did not put it in my liquids bag. No one said a word to me either time.. Its kinda iffy sometimes...
Like, I had neosporin in a first aid kit as well and hand lotion in a purse I forgot about until I got on the plane.

I dont think it matters what airline it is since its TSA that checks. I went US Air in December and United last month and neither checked. This may not be a good thing??? If they are missing this stuff is it from negligence or just lack of concern... hmm...

And before I get comments saying not to tell people to not worry about putting things in the liquids bag, this was on the way BACK home, when things were frantic in the morning trying to get everything back in order after getting ready in the morning and getting to the airport on time!

This is not really address the moist towelette question, but I once "got" through security with a pair of sewing shears (full sized) and 5 inch scissors. I took a knitting bag with me and forgot to remove them. Oakland Ca security screened my carry on TWICE and no one caught it, or they did not care.

When we got to our destination I was flabbergasted to seem them there. needless to say they came back in the checked luggage as they were expensive.

It just depends. I have a new suitcase called a Zuca and there is a little shlef in the top where you store your liquid "baggie". When I got to the airport I forgot to take it out and no one even noticed!

I think sometimes they see it, but they are trained as well to judge you by manner and body language. Im sure if you seemed suspicious, they would have dumped your bag out. I saw that happening to people. I also had forgotten I bought 2 for 1 Diet Coke (16 oz plastic bottle) at Boots and drank only one and the other was in the carry on (I thought I would drink them both before boarding!) and they didnt catch it. This can be a good but also a potential bad sign!!!
