pre book rail?

I have decided, based mostly on the advice that I recieved here, thank you so much, that I will not buy a rail pass and will not pre-book most of my rail travel.

However, I found what I think are pretty good rates for the Eurostar from London to Paris $62 pp in second class for the morning we want to go, should I book these?

And I have heard from several others that I should pre-book my overnight train as they often book up and sell out. We are planning an overnight from Paris to Venice on a Friday night, should I prebook this as well?

If yes, where should I go to pre-book the paris venice leg? I found the eurostar on raileurope.com which I know is generally not the cheapest but that rate seems pretty cheap to me, is there another place I should look for that as well?
Thanks!

You can book directly from Eurostar on their website, www.eurostar.com.

I found some non-refundable fares on specific trains as low as $60 (39 GBP)

To get the best fares for both routes you've listed, you definitely need to book in advance. And it is true that popular night trains can sell out weeks in advance.

Book your Eurostar tickets up to 120 days in advance at www.eurostar.com to get a fare as low as 43 EUR ($58) and either print the tickets yourself or pick them up at St Pancras International. While Rail Europe's best fare is competitive in this case, you will need to pay a shipping fee if you book with them.

Book the Paris-Venice night train well in advance (up to three months allowed) at www.tgv-europe.com. To keep the site it English and to avoid being bumped to the Rail Europe site which doesn't offer discount fares for this route, choose Great Britain as your country of residence.
