I am going to school in Prague for the month of June 2011. I then have a week to work on a paper that is due before I meet up with family in paris to do mission work in a small village south of Paris.
I am conflicted about where to spend my week. I may be very familiar with Prague and may want to stay at a youth hostel (I am not a youth, almost 48 yr old female) or the American Embassy has rooms to rent. On the other hand I speek German and thought that maybe Ramstein Inn on the air force base or a B & B in town to be able to access the base. My other, and probably the BIGGEST question, would be how to get to Ramstein/Paris. Train I assume is the best. I do not think a pass is the way to go...I just need some dialog about your idea to help me make decisions.
And the chances of getting a room in the inn are between zip and zero. I've tried a gazillion times since they built it.
And in June your chances of getting a hotel on base are even less than Ed said. There are lots of nice hotels in Ramstein and Landstuhl close to base, a couple are walkable if you don't mind a 20-30 min walk, or taxis go on base. Are you eligible to get on base?
