I am going to Prague in a couple of weeks and and was wondering what the best way (and possibly cheapest) to get to the downtown area from the airport. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!
See the postings to Chris's exactly same question.
Chris's question is NOT the same, as this asks for cheapest method. Bus 119 from airport to Dejvicka, which is end of line. Transfer there to Metro A and take in 3 stops to Staromestska for are near Old Town Square or to Mustek at top of Wenceslas Square. One ticket only, ticket costs 26 Ck (~$1.35), covers rides for 75 minutes. Bus takes about 15 minutes, Metro 5. If adventurous, one can take trams instead from Dejvicka depending on where you are going and enjoy the view.
Coug, if you combine Larry's answer with mine on Chris's post, you will probably have plenty of options ranging from a couple bucks up to $57.00. I'm sure out of these you'll find something in your budget/comfort zone! Happy travels!
