The government is starting a program where certain visitors to the US will need to post a $15,000 bond to ensure that they don't overstay their welcome. Only two countries listed so far but they are vaguely hinting that there will more to come.
It's quite possible that if you are planning a trip to one of the countries on this list, they will reciprocate by making YOU post such a bond as well. Be aware.

If a Bond process had been in place when my family immigrated to the US, or when we had to bring grandma here for cancer surgery things would have bren so much easier. I hope this is a start to a broader policy. Maybe extend it to seasonal workers as well. Hopefully he realizes he's on to something.
