I have literally planned my trip based on your input and I feel so much confident that my trip will be a success because of all your advise. I have to give credict to all . You are every kind to thank all that helped you. Realize those that reply to posts on this board are usually very well traveled in Europe and are very happy just to talk and help travelers on their journey over the pond. Have fun!!!

Javier, I knew nothing about planning a trip to Europe. I came across Rick Steves' and The Thorn Tree early in my planning. As a result of all the help from people, I planned an 8 week trip to 8 countries.
Our trip was flawless. My daughter was very impressed. She asked me many times during the trip....where did you here of this or that place...such at Treir, Germany.
We stayed in each city the minimum of 2 days. Many such as Paris 5 days, Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland 6 days. The point is, one must take into consideration travel days take up a lot of time.
Without the help of people here, our trip would not have been as wonderful as it was.

ALthough I had travelled to the UK many times, I had never been on Mainland Europe till 2005. I gleaned a lot from this board for our first trip and was most grateful for all the free advice I got as I skulked around. On my return I vowed to share what I had learned when the situation arose and have tried to be active on the board since. We have returned to Europe evey year since, except the current one, but trust we will be back next year.
