Point to Point or Rail Pass?

Two adults and one student will be traveling on the following dates using the following itinerary. Does anyone have a suggestion regarding point to point tix vs. railpass? (We will be spending a few days in the Berner Oberland and day trips from Paris)

Also, is there a website where I can find point to point prices for the itinerary?

July 11 Brussels to Amsterdam
July 13 Amsterdam to Berlin (night train)
July 15 Berlin to Krakow (night train)
July 17 Auschwitz to Prague (night train)
July 20 Prague to Salzburg via Linz
July 23 Salzburg to Munich via Berchtesgaden
July 26 Munich to Venice (night train)
July 28 Venice to Rome (night train)
Aug. 1 Rome to Interlakken
Aug. 6 Interlakken to Triberg
Aug. 7 Triberg to Koblenz
Aug. 8. Bacharach to Rothenburg
Aug. 9. Rothenburg to Paris

Thanks!

Comparisons can be made by consulting RS' book
Europe thru the Back Door and likely by contacting the rail dept on this website. That said, none of your journeys appears very long. We dunno if you MUST be on a given train at a given date. P2P tix are much cheaper, moreso if bought ahead of time in Europe. They offer flexibility that a rail pass does not (no need to worry about using precious days).

There is no single website that can get you all of those P2P prices. The Bahn (German Rail, http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en) website can do prices for trains that start and/or end in Germany and often has discount fares.

So try the Bahn for Amst.-Berlin, Berlin-Krakow, Munich-Venice, Interlaken-Triberg, Triberg-Koblenz, and Bacharach-Paris.

I would suggest that you do Rothenburg from Munich. You can make that trip, one way or RT in a single day, with a Bayern-Ticket (all three of you for €27).

If you take the train from Salzburg to Berchtesgaden via Freilassing (:56-1:09), you can use another Bayern-Ticket. Salzburg is considered a border station for German Rail, and thus the Bayern-Ticket is valid from there. There is also a 45 minute bus from the Salzburg Hbf to Berchtesgaden, but I think it will cost an extra €8,50 per person.

For Triberg to Koblenz, you can buy full fare, express train tickets for 3 adults online from German Rail for $300. Those trains take about 4 hours. Or, if you are willing to take regional train for 5-1/2 hours, you can use a €27 Baden-Württemberg-Ticket plus a €26 Rheinland-Pfalz-Ticket for €53 (~$85) for all three.

How soon are these fares available on the DB web site? Am I able to plan a July & August trip this far in advace?

There is really no need to buy the Bayern-Tickets online. You can buy them from any ticket automat. They don't sell out; there's no limit. I buy mine the morning I travel. Also, since they are for regional trains, there are no reservations required, or possible.

Will I be able to view longer (overnight) fares on the DB website now for trips in July and August?

I really appreciate all the help!
